Dr. Frost is an orthodontist in Arizona.
He wrote this book and it’s helping to get the word out about his techniques (the Damon System) and all that orthodontia can provide for people – not just for children, but for people of any age.
It’s not just about straightening teeth.
On a personal note, I was interested in this topic because my older son (The Teen) had braces, and his little brother (Prince Charming, Jr) may need them, also.
I was pleasantly surprised to read of the many interesting things that an orthodontist can help with in this well-written book.
In this book, you will learn both of Dr. Frost’s background – growing up with a dad who was a dentist, and his family life; having a brother that’s also a dentist, and his training and credentials now.
He gives many examples, with pictures (before and after) of the techniques and his “artistry” in creating, recreating, or “giving back” a smile.
It seems many patients, on their “reveal”, tell him that he gave them back their smile. The stories are heartwarming.
You will learn that not only is orthodontia an art form, but it can help with other, seemingly unrelated conditions such as snoring, ADD, bedwetting, and “aging more gracefully”.
You can tell that Dr. Frost enjoys teaching. He has an easy way of explaining and making the technical terms understandable for the reader.
More things he explains that you will learn:
-
pulling teeth, pain for several days after each adjustment, and headgear is out, and
-
gentle movement of the teeth plus restructuring is in. Dentists didn’t previously know what pulling teeth would do to the facial structure as the person aged.
-
WHY kids may need to have 2 different phases of orthodontic treatment, starting BEFORE all their adult teeth come in.
(I will admit – I previously thought this was some sort of way for the orthodontists to get more boat payments out of us. Oh, you did, too? He changed my opinion – so I recommend giving him a chance – with his clear explanation of the benefits in this book.)
I don’t want to give everything he says in the book away. The examples he gives are so interesting, and the book is packed full of information. You’ll have to read it to see what more he has to share.
I really enjoyed learning from him through this book, and I think you will, too! Grab your copy here:
